The contact owns a 2001 Dodge Stratus. While driving approximately 60 mph, the engine stalled without warning. The vehicle was towed to a local mechanic shop and, upon further inspection, the contact noticed that the push rod punctured a hole through the oil pan. The engine size was 2.7L with six cylinders. The cause of the failure was unknown. The failure mileage was 120,800 and current mileage was 121,000. Engine and engine cooling · reported at 120,800 miles
Engine failed after 50,000 miles, car out of warranty. Oil changed very frequent. Auto manufacturer refuses to acknowledge any responsibility. Also mileage incorrect on odometer when car was purchased used in may 2004 car dealer also does not accept responsibility for inaccurate odometer. While driving at any speed engine will stall out, when taken foot off pedal can feel engine trying to die out, consumer has to keep foot on accelerater to avoid vehicle from shutting off. Contacted dealer, and dealer could not recreate problem to fix it. *Ak consumer stated vehicle has been to the dealer 2 more times.*Slc Engine and engine cooling
