The median odometer reading at the time of complaint was 94,785 miles.

In owners' own words

My husband was driving his 1996 Plymouth Voyager van when the engine started racing. He was pulling into a parking spot, and when he tried to stop the van, the brakes could not stop it, and it hit a car in front of it. He put it into reverse, and it kept going forward and hit the car harder. He took the van to a mechanic who ran a diagnostic test on it, and they could not find the cause of the problem. Windshield wipers turn on intermittently by themselves, do not turn off properly & often stop in middle of windshield. Engine stalls repeatedly, especially during hot weather or after highway driving. Tension pulley has failed/is failing resulting in belt squaling and premature failure, belt has been replaced twice at owners expense. Engine and engine cooling
The bolt holding tension pulley in place broke off, causing serpentine belt to break followed by loss of power steering , all electrical, and power brakes at speed of 50 mph. Vehicle had to be towed; in addition to replacing damaged parts, have had to replace battery and possibly starter or alternator within 7 days of accident. Engine and engine cooling
