Distributor failed at only 22,000 miles due to design flaw allowing it to be exposed to moisture which caused the bearings to seize. Manufacturer redesigned faulty part immediately in following model year to include vacuum seals which prevent this problem but did not recall and refuse to reimburse excessive cost ($1,600) to repair known defect with lt1 engine on 1994 models. Check engine light comes on at any speed for 10-30 mins had it checked computer does not store any trouble codes had it at dealer,auto repair shop excess of 18 times no one can fine anything wrong why?????? Consumer called complaining while driving at 55mph the temperature gauge went up and down, took the vehicle to the near shop, a technician diagnosis the head gasket was leaking, manifold failed at 114000 miles and the cool found leaking.
