Reading the numbers
Across the 8 model years of the Cadillac Escalade in this data, 2022 draws comparatively few complaints; 2007 is the outlier year.
Filings are rising — 98 in the last three years against 8 in the three before. For a vehicle this age that usually points to a wear-related failure owners are hitting now.
The median odometer reading at the time of complaint was 36,000 miles.
In owners' own words
My husband, 2 young children and I were driving on the frontage road to the interstate at approximately 55 miles per hour when the engine suddenly stopped functioning and almost caused a catastrophic wreck with the cars around us. The Cadillac dealership it was towed to evaluated it and determined it had experienced total engine failure. Itâs covered in the NHTSAâs investigation into the 6.2 L V8 GM engine. Engine
Roughly One year ago 2024, engine failed. Return to dealer , 3 weeks ago 2025, another engine failure. Currently awaiting a replacement engine. Mileage was 30,000 on first time Another approx 10,000 on this one . We were on 8 lane highway at 70 mph.j just went out and would not restart Luckily no cars in rightmost lanes and coasted to edge of the road . Similar scenario first time only on a 4 lane. Engine
Hey, Just wanted to let you know that I took my car in for the recall service on the 6.2L engine issues, They determined my engine was fine and changed the oil to the different one. Within 6 months the engine blow while I was driving, they covered it under the recall however it is clear that the oil change is not an appropriate fix for this issue. thanks Engine
