Drivers' side brake light/tail light failure at 44k miles. GMC refuses to fix under warranty (even with extended warranty purchased) despite thousands of people having this issue. Dealer quoted $1,000 to fix just the one side and admitted this is a known issue. I was stopped by another driver at a red light to inform me of the issue - he said he nearly hit me because of it and was scared. Exterior lighting · reported at 44,000 miles
My issue pertains to a known problem. The driver's side tail light has failed. GM issued Special Coverage Adjustment N182180270 because of this issue where the part was covered for up to 6 years or 72k miles. Mine failed after 6 years and 4 or 5 months at 66k miles. It's utterly ridiculous that a defective, $800 light is fine to break after 6 years with no warranty assistance. Exterior lighting
The led brake lights fail intermittently and then completely due to a design flaw of weak circuitry. The led circuit breaks from fatigue in the brake light housing. There is no dash notification to tell you when a brake light has failed. Gm replacement brake lights cost $650 each but they have the same design flaw. Pictures attached.
