Electric power steering rack has failed. It's very, very hard to steer the vehicle. Happened when it was cold and snowy out. I'm lucky it occurred in my driveway, and I wasn't at speed on the highway! Dealer says it's a module in the steering rack. Quoted over 3k to replace the electronic power steering rack. I can't afford that... That kind of repair was never anticipated when I purchased this vehicle. Steering
The truck was working fine, went to start it and the trucks electric power steering was no longer working. We brought to shop and got an est of $3,000-$4,000 to fix the repair. We didnt have the money at the time and brought the truck home. It proceeded to work randomly after a turn but next start up failed to work and has been like this for a year. There is a warning like that comes on that says abs system. Steering
The contact owns a 2015 Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving at approximately 10 MPH, the steering wheel became difficult to turn in either direction, with the message "Service Power Steering" displayed. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The local dealer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The manufacturer was not yet contacted. The failure mileage was 150,000.
