In owners' own words

Two weeks of zero degree weather caused the rear main seal to fail causing a large oil leak that could have resulted in the engine locking up if I had not noticed oil running down the driveway. Repair shop advised this was a common problem with the 2.4 liter engine caused by a failure of the PCV system and there is a service bulletin on this problem. GM has not recalled these engines to correct the known problem. Engine
The contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Equinox. While driving 55 mph, the engine revved and the vehicle stalled. The contact was unable to restart the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who stated that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. A dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was notified. The approximate failure mileage was 107,000. The vin was not available. Engine · reported at 107,000 miles
Recently the "check engine light came on, scheduled the car for service at the local GM dealership. The car only has 67700 miles on it, and the timing belt needs to be replaced. I believe this is ridiculous, this shouldn't be an issuse at all. The cost to repair the timing chain with labor is arounf the 2k mark. I understand this to be a problem with this engine type, and was advised to submit a complaint. Engine
