Reading the numbers
Across the 18 model years of the Ford F-350 in this data, 2013 draws comparatively few complaints; 1999 is the outlier year.
Filings have fallen off, 15 in the last three years against 37 in the three before. That is normal as a generation leaves the road.
The median odometer reading at the time of complaint was 85,500 miles.
In owners' own words
Steering became erratic & uncontrolable while driving at 55mph. Steering wheel shook . It was a death wobble and almost caused a serious accident. This has happened four times in the last two months. This is a 2013 Ford F-350 with 102,000 miles. Each time truck had it happen, it was after a expansion joint in road was gone over. Truck was taken to Ford dealer & we are waiting for their assement of the problem. Steering
2013 F350 front end violent shaking after running over a bump on highway going 60 mph, this made the truck lose all steering control. With applied braking the situation only got worse. The vehicle ended up on the center line creating a very dangerous situation with other vehicles around. We only gained control of the situation when the vehicle slowed to 45 mph. This situation occurred twice in one day. Steering · reported at 107,500 miles
I was driving on the freeway when I hit a small bump and the steering wheel began to shake uncontrollably. Luckily, I was able to merge to the shoulder for safety. Only after I stopped completely did the shaking stop. Signs of the famous "death wobble" on these trucks. Ford needs to fix! Veer dangerous and scary. Steering
