Reading the numbers
Filings have fallen off, 11 in the last three years against 165 in the three before. That is normal as a generation leaves the road.
The median odometer reading at the time of complaint was 1,225 miles.
In owners' own words
This motorcycle continually has a very heavy fuel smell after riding. The heat generated by the engine is extreme and causes my right foot to be very hot. When I arrive at home I have to use a fan in the garage to get rid of the fuel smell. Brp/dealer claims this is normal. I am afraid that there will be a fire similar to the one that happened this past saturday, 26 july 2014 here in california. Fuel/propulsion system · reported at 11,000 miles
My spyder has been leaking oil since the day I bought it new. I have owned it for 6 months, has been in the shop several times. Still leaking. Gas fumes so bad coming from the engine after riding I can not close the garage door for at least an hour/. Smells of gas really strong every time I am on the bike. Gas cap so hot I can hardly touch it when I need to get gas. Fuel/propulsion system
Smell gas vapors in the garage and housebafter driving it. Seat front top where it meets the body(storage compartment) to hot to touch or sit on without a sheepskin pad and still very uncomfortable and likely dangerous. Right foot gets so hot from the motor your can't keep your foot in place. Have to wear heavy boots. Have had the recall and electronic updates. Fuel/propulsion system · reported at 300 miles
