Reading the numbers
Across the 17 model years of the Toyota 4runner in this data, 2012 draws comparatively few complaints; 2004 is the outlier year.
Filings have fallen off, 5 in the last three years against 12 in the three before. That is normal as a generation leaves the road.
The median odometer reading at the time of complaint was 44,415 miles.
In owners' own words
Takata recall. I purchased my 2012 4runner in june 2016. I was not notified there was a recall (no. 16V-340) for the takata air bag on the front passenger side. I have since received recall #17v-006. I thought it was not lawful for a dealer to sell a vehicle under recall without notifying the new owner. I was not notified of the takata recall, or I would not have purchased the vehicle. Do I have any recourse? Air bags
