Reading the numbers
Across the 11 model years of the Honda FIT in this data, 2012 draws comparatively few complaints; 2007 is the outlier year.
Filings have fallen off, 6 in the last three years against 15 in the three before. That is normal as a generation leaves the road.
The median odometer reading at the time of complaint was 46,900 miles.
In owners' own words
Takata recall. The contact owns a 2012 Honda FIT. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 16v061000 (air bags); however, the parts for the recall were not available. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was notified of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Vin tool confirms parts not available. Air bags
I was notified by letter earlier this year about the jy1 recall and I have not heard back. The parts were supposed to become available this summer and the website is still showing that a remedy is not available. I don't want to get in an accident and my air bag deploy and kill myself or someone else while driving. I don't believe that is extreme as others have lost lives due to recalls not having been completed. Air bags
