The median odometer reading at the time of complaint was 98 miles.

In owners' own words

The contact owns a 2007 Yamaha YZFR1 motorcycle. While driving 55 mph the contact attempted to accelerate and there was no throttle response. The control chip in the throttle was replaced, and it wasn't operating normally. The failure only occurred in second gear at 5500 rpms and it almost caused a collision. The failure mileage was 10, and the current mileage was 1,000. *Ak updated 05/23/07 Vehicle speed control · reported at 10 miles
On my Yamaha yzf r1 there is a dangerous lack of respond time when the throttle is opened. When the speed limit is at least 50 mph, and the motorcycle is running in second gear with the rpms at 5500 which is around 48 mph, then hold the motorcycle steady at this rpm for a moment and then opening the throttle pretty full the motorcycle will takes between 3-4 seconds before it will respond. I was riding on the freeway on route 1. I tried to pass a car in traffic in 2nd gear at 5500 rpm no throttle response for approximately 4 seconds. This bike did not accelerate from 5500 rpms in 2nd gear properly. Having no throttle response in 2nd gear at 5500 could have cost me my life. Yamaha said there was nothing wrong with the bike.
