In owners' own words

When I started the car, the dash display said "check vsc system". When I backed the car out of the driveway, the brakes were erratic, either very weak, or very strong. I was unable to control them for safe braking. There was no code in the obd system (I have a obd scan tool.). An internet search indicates that repairs will probably be about $3,000. The car is not be safe to drive until this is repaired. Service brakes · reported at 104,000 miles
I was driving on the road at a speed of 35 miles per hour and all of a sudden the "check vsc system" light turned on my dashboard and the brake of the car became loose. When I try to slow the car down by applying the brake, it wouldn't let me do so. I was approaching the traffic light and I had to press the brake too hard so that the car can stop. Finally, I was able to stop it by applying the emergency brake. Service brakes · reported at 190,000 miles
Knocking noise, almost like a door closing, lived with it. Took the car to the Toyota dealership, december 11 to be told my abs module was quote "failing" and it would cost $2,900.00 To replace it. Also told "it's ok to drive without abs module". I was shocked at the number of failures that I see reported - great disappointment that Toyota has chosen not to address what appears to be an obvious flaw. Service brakes · reported at 50,000 miles
