In owners' own words
The shift level is stuck in park. With the brake pressed, it will move right but not down into gear. If I take my foot off the brake, it will not move to the right at all. The recognition of the brake be depressed appears to be working. I was 120 miles from home so I took the console apart around the gear shifter and found a cable that I could pull backwards and then was able to shift out of park. Car would not come out of park. Left the car there overnight. Called flat bed the next day to have it towed to dealer. Called the dealer the next day and they said the tow truck driver got it out of park and it didn't duplicate the problem for the dealer. Nothing fixed just had to pay a tow bill. Have owned the car for six and half years now and it's only done it that one time. Odd. Power train · reported at 75,838 miles
