Wow, me and wife [xxx] almost crashed friday evening after the steering got so tight and couldn't control or steer the car. I've owned car since 2007 and this was really very very violent surprise to us. We are still in shock and very scared.. The contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Malibu. Whenever the contact drove the vehicle at any speed he noticed a clanking sound coming from the center console of the steering wheel. The vehicle was taken to the dealership where the contact was informed that the steering column needed to be replaced. The failure mileage was 50,000.
