Brake warning and antilock lights come on the first and several subsequent times the brake pedal is pushed. The bake pedal is very stiff and hard to press at this point. A strange noise can be heard from the left side of the dash each time the brake pedal is pushed. These symptoms are identified in recall id 01v254001 but Mitsubishi states that my vehicle is not part of this recall. Service brakes, hydraulic · reported at 47,500 miles
Dt: the contact owns a 2002 Mitsubishi montaro . Started with an abnormal sound in left side of vehicle, noise sounded like a goose when applying brakes. Contacted dealership , who told the contact that it would cost $200 to fix it. Also, called manufacturer who said vehicle was not included in recall 01v254000l due to vin. No crashes. The contact owns a 2002 Mitsubishi Montero. The contact stated that the abs light remains illuminated. The dealer diagnosed the vehicle as needing a new abs system. The idle control valve, oxygen sensor, and the electrical switch for the transmission were all replaced. The purchase date was unknown. The current mileage is 62,000 and failure mileage was 51,000.
