In owners' own words
I have a 2002 3.8 Monte Carlo ss. I am currently having problems with my ignition. When I try to start my car all the instruments turn on but the engine does not start. I attempted several times to restart the vehicle, but I still have the same problem. Then I put the car in drive and returned it to park position several times. After about a few minutes the car started. I have been having this problem for awhile. Electrical system · reported at 126,000 miles
Loss of traction control and anti lock brakes in my car. My vehicle has allowed these safety features to quit working and after replacing the parts that the dealer said needed to be replaced, the vehicle's system does not recognize the new sensor and part, thus not allowing the traction control and abs to work. After researching this on the internet, it seems to be a very common problem in gm vehicles. Electrical system · reported at 95,000 miles
Issues with the bcm and passlock system. The car while on and driving will display security alongside the batt gauge quits working. If shut off car will not start, and light stay on. I have to disconnect the batt for some time. With the the auto lights sometimes come on during mid day with the sun shining. This is becoming a hassle. I'd rather purchase another car than go threw dealership hoops. Electrical system · reported at 170,000 miles
