Filings have fallen off, 5 in the last three years against 12 in the three before. That is normal as a generation leaves the road.
The median odometer reading at the time of complaint was 67,455 miles.
In owners' own words
During accelaration or a downshift to accelarate the on-board computer reads "performance reduced" and the car looses all power. You must pull over to the side of the road since the car looses all power and shut the car off. Once it is off for a few minutes you can start again and resume driving as normal. This has happened several times in the last few weeks. No repair has yet been made. Vehicle speed control · reported at 100,138 miles
Electronice throttle module failure. While driving on a busy main street the car suddenly went into a "limp mode". Took it to our independant Volvo mechanic and he hooked it up to vadis. Then told us that it was an etm failure. I called Volvo and they said there was ntohing that they could do since the car was bought used. I paid over one thousand dollars to get the etm replaced. Car had a sudden loss of speed when driving on the highway. When the vehicle was restarted it would drive a little bit and then stall again. This happened several times. We were on a busy highway and I was with my 2 young children. It was slowly driven to the Volvo dealer and was immediately diagnosed to be the "throttle". The throttle, gasket and hose clamp was replaced. Vehicle speed control · reported at 62,089 miles
