Consumer stated the steering started shaking at 80,000, vehicle was taken to Volvo dealer and consumer was informed that the truck had an alignment problem, it was determined that the front left steering tire was worn down to the cord on the inside half, the vehicle was then aligned and it was found that it was 1 inch out of alignment, also the camber and castor were out. Consumer stated that Volvo moved the tanks back 18 inches to take the weight off the front axle, now the tanks get covered with all road dirt and mud on the catwalk, Volvo replaced the front wheels and tires with 11r22.5 To cut down on the weight, however the front of the vehicle is still too heavy. The front end of the semi is possibly defective making it difficult to scale to tractor and trailer/overweight, the front end makes popping sounds and the vehicle shutters while braking, the front steering and drive tires experienced excessive wear possible due to the front end suspension problem.
