The contact owns a 2000 Ford Taurus. While driving approximately 40 mph, the passenger side rear coil spring failed and punctured the tire. The contact pulled the vehicle to the side of the road. He drove to a service station and had the tire replaced. There was a recall for the front coil springs on the vehicle. The recall number was unknown. The current mileage was 86,223 and failure mileage was 86,221. Suspension · reported at 86,221 miles
Brought 2000 Ford Taurus in to repair shop to have tires replaced. Rec'd phone call that both rear strut springs were broken and they would not put tires on because of the safety issue of springs poking into tires & causing accident. So struts need to be fixed first to the tune of $1000, which I don't have. Apparently, this is common in tauruses, and Ford should be offering to pay some or all of the repairs. Suspension
