In owners' own words

Same as odi case numbers 10170430 and 10164275. Engine dies when directional are turned on. I can sometimes restart the car a second time, but it sputters intermittently until engine clears. Usually a third attempt to start fails. Would like input from someone who has found the solution. I have changed out the directional assembly. It didn't help. Car has 173,000 miles on. There are multiple problems with this vehicle. One of my main complaints is the steering wheel is becoming very warm to the touch. Next, the key gets stuck in the switch and will not come out, causing the battery to run down. Also, the signal lights have gone out and are not repairable and the electrical windows have gone out due to rusting and are not repairable. Electrical system
Climate contol malfunctioned. Sometimes, the driver's side mid-level climate control vents blow warm air, even though the climate control is set on auto and the passenger's side is blowing cold air. This happens regardless of the "auto" temperature setting ( 68, 74 degress, etc.). This malfunction could cause driver distraction or even drowsiness. Electrical system · reported at 30,000 miles
