In owners' own words
Vehicle been experiencing ongoing problem with abs system intermittently involved in extended stopping distance whenever brakes are applied in an emergency situation. Also, a loud noise came from the wheels, and brake pedal would go closer to the floor before stopping. Dealer was notified, and informed consumerthat was normal operation. Seeking help from nhtsa in this matter. Service brakes, hydraulic
Failure #1-rear brakes would lock when stopping. This would activate the rear antilock brake system and result in extra long stopping. Failure #2-the air vacuum hose that controls the position of the vents (ie heater or vent or defrost) melted and control of the defrost was lost. Windshield frosted over and reduced vision through windshield resulting in dangerous condition. Dt Service brakes, hydraulic
Problem has occurred seven times. Each time, I have been braking for a stop sign or traffic signal and had slowed almost to a stop when the abs started to function. This extended my stopping distance to the point that I was approximately half way into the pedestrian crosswalk when the vehicle came to a complete stop. The road surface in each case was paved and dry. Service brakes, hydraulic
